Talking about the same, the actor said, “I don’t keep an eye on my identity or awards, but it certainly inspires me and helps me choose the kind of films or characters that I want to do. Rewards give me confidence in choosing my job.”
Nawaz recently made headlines with his visit to the International Emmy Awards, as he was nominated in the Best Performance by an Actor category for his work in the Sudhir Mishra-directed ‘Serious Men’. However, the actor lost out to David Tennant, who walked away with the trophy for his performance in the drama miniseries ‘Des’.Nawaz has achieved many international acclaim in the past as he is the only actor in the world to have 8 films officially selected and screened at the Cannes Film Festival.
His film ‘Kite: The Kite’ premiered at the Berlin International Film Festival and Tribeca Film Festival in 2012.He also won the Fanción Málaga Award in Spain and the Asia Pacific Screen Awards in 2016 for his work in ‘Raman Raghav 2.0’. Apart from this, he has also won the Best Supporting Actor Award at the Asia Pacific Film Festival for ‘The Lunchbox’.
