After the rebuke from the central government, Netflix said that the real names of the plane hijackers will now be shown in the series. The Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting had summoned Netflix India’s content head Monica Shergill. After this, the content head of Netflix presented the answer to the central government today. After presenting her reply to the Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Monica Shergill held a press conference in which she said on behalf of Netflix that both the real names and code names of the terrorists who hijackered the plane will now be updated in the disclaimer of the series.
During this press conference, the director of the web series Anubhav Sinha and its producers were also present. ‘IC-814-The Kandahar Hijack’, which was released on Netflix on August 29, has been creating a ruckus since its release. Actually, the names of the plane hijackers have been changed in this series. They are being called by names like Bhola and Shankar. People got angry about this. People started demanding a ban on this web series on social media.
Boycott Netflix also started trending. Not only this, people’s anger also erupted on the director of this web series, Anubhav Sinha. Social media users also made many allegations against Sinha. BJP also targeted Netflix and series producer Anubhav Sinha on this matter.
