New Delhi. Famous art director Nitin Desai passed away on 2 August. He ended his life by hanging himself in his own studio. The police had also received a suicide note and recording from the spot, in which he had also mentioned his last wish. Last Friday, as per the wish of the Art Director, his last rites were also performed at ND Studio. It was being told that Nitin was struggling with financial problems and committed suicide under the burden of debt. Now the statement of the director’s daughter has come to the fore, in which she has claimed that her father had no intention of cheating anyone.

Daughter gave clarification
Nitin Desai’s daughter Manasi Nitin Desai told the media that “I want to say that my father had no intention of cheating anyone and was paying all that he had promised. Due to the pandemic there was no work and the studio was closed. And because of this he was not able to make his regular payment. He was not deceiving anyone. Please tell that Desai had a loan of 180 crores, which he was not able to repay. This loan was to be given to the director by the Edelweiss Company, but even after many efforts, he was not able to repay the loan. It is also being told that the Art Director had mortgaged some land to take a loan of 180 crores and had also proposed to give his company in case of non-payment of the loan. Although the loan of the actor has increased from 180 crores to 249 crores till now, the pressure of repaying which was constant on him.

Significantly, Desai worked in many big Bollywood films. By making grand sets, added beauty to the film. He designed sets for films like Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Padmavat, Prem Ratna Dhan Payo, Bajirao Mastani, Jodhaa Akbar, Fashion, Induraj Lagaan and Devdas.
