On September 23, Karthi attended an event in Hyderabad. During this, the anchor presented some memes, one of which was about laddu. To which he reacted, ‘Ippudu laddu gurinchi mataladakodu (We should not talk about laddu now) We do not want to talk about this topic, what is all this about.’ He laughed while saying this. Pawan Kalyan got angry with Karthi’s comment and asked the celebrities to refrain from speaking on this controversy.

While addressing the media in Vijayawada on September 24, Pawan Kalyan expressed his displeasure over Karthi’s remarks. He said that if people from the film industry want to discuss the matter, they should either support it or not comment on it. Pawan also urged people to refrain from commenting on the matter on public forums and stressed that it is a matter of serious concern. Reacting to Karthi’s remarks, he said, ‘Don’t ever dare to say such a thing on any sensitive issue now.’
