TV industry’s popular actress Sayantani has made some shocking revelations in an interview.
Sayantani Ghosh, who gained recognition from house to house with the serial Naagin, has told in an interview that she too has faced body shaming. Not only this, together she also disclosed that she has also faced questions related to breast size at the age of teenage.
Not only this, lewd comments had to be heard even from women for the size of the body. During an interview given to Bollywood Bubble, the actress had told that such comments of people had made a very bad impression on her.
Sayantani Ghosh said, “As far as I can remember, I have faced such comments at a young age. Then I was afraid of those things. I couldn’t understand why this was happening to me. Such things have left a mark on me.
Sayantani Ghosh also spoke openly on the casting couch in the interview. She revealed that a popular filmmaker had once suggested that he should spend some time with her so that he could ‘train’ Sayantani for a role.
Apart from this, remembering the days of modeling, she told that I remember my modeling days and I have never been flat-chested. A woman used to come up to me and make lewd comments. She used to say that you are Bengali and Bengali women are sexually attractive.
In those days a woman told me, “Your chest is not flat. You are quite fine. Looking at your breast size, it seems that you must be having a lot of sex, right? The ‘Naagin’ actress told that then I did not understand what she meant. I was a virgin then. I wondered what was happening. Unknowingly or unknowingly, all these things seemed scary.
Talking about this in the interview, Sayantani Ghosh further said, “I did not even know what he meant to say. I was a virgin girl at that time. I wondered what was happening to me. I was only 18 at that time and such things unknowingly leave their mark on you.”
Sayantani Ghosh also raised questions on the boundaries of society in the interview, saying, “We still think this way about women’s bodies and sometimes these things scare us too. If you are a little fat or have a heavy body then there is a problem, if you are flat chested, then there is also a problem. So it’s never been okay.”
