New Delhi: Vijay Deverakonda has reacted to the claims that he has filed a police complaint against those trolling his recently released film Family Star. The film was released on 5 April and received mixed response from the audience. While a section of fans enjoyed it, a section also criticized the film. Amidst these reactions, there were rumors that Vijay has taken legal action against the trollers through his manager and now the reaction of the family star has come.
When the issue started heating up on social media, Vijay Deverakonda finally broke his silence and made it clear that he has not taken any such step. Film reporter Haricharan Pudipeddi contacted Vijay through a tweet and mentioned the news along with a picture of Vijay with a police officer. The journalist asked him if there was any truth in the news. The actor has replied by saying ‘no’. When asked about the photo, Vijay clarified that it was an old photo which was taken during Covid-19.

Meanwhile, Family Star producer Dil Raju raised his voice against banning reviews and social media reactions for three days after the release of the film. Speaking to TV9, Dil Raju said, ‘A court in Kerala has directed to stop publishing reviews for 3 days after the release of the film. Something similar should be implemented here for the betterment of our industry. We have made a good film, please come to the theater and watch it. If you like it, tell it to others. You didn’t like a movie, that’s your opinion. But, do not impose your opinion on the audience.
He further said, ‘The family audience has appreciated this film and given good response. It has reached its intended audience. Manufacturers are the first to be affected by these negative reviews. If this trend continues and losses increase, then there will be very few people making films. Let us tell you that now The Family Star has made a box office collection of only Rs 28 crores whereas it was made for Rs 50 crores. Once again Deverakonda has proved to be a flop.
