Maharashtra Cyber Cell issued another summons to Raina
Maharashtra Cyber Cell has sent a second summons to Raina at a comedian time in India’s Got Latant case. The stand-up comedian has been asked to appear before the investigating officer on 17 February. This happened when Raina’s lawyer informed the cyber cell that Raina is in America and will return on March 17. However, the Mumbai Police had clearly told Raina’s team that the police investigation cannot wait for so many days. Therefore, the comedian will have to appear before the police within 14 days of starting the inquiry.
Their statement recorded
The Khar police have so far recorded statements of seven people in this case. These include Ranveer Allahbadia, Ashish Chanchalani and Apoorva Makhija who attended the show as a panelist, as well as the studio where the show took place, along with the owner of the show, Balraj Ghai as well as three technical people associated with the show.
Decision not taken to register FIR
Significantly, the Mumbai Police has not yet taken any decision to register an FIR in this case. Police said it would record the statements of the people associated with the show and then take a decision on registering the case.
What is India’s Got latent controversy?
During the recent episodes of Raina’s show India’s Got Latant, Ranveer Allahbadia asked a contestant an inappropriate question, causing controversy on social media. YouTuber was trolled on X over his unfair question and the demand for closure of the show began. In addition, social media users urged Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnav to take strict action against the three.
Time Raina’s India’s Got Latent Response
Time Raina recently broke the silence on this dispute. He shared a post, which wrote- ‘Whatever is happening, it is very difficult for me to handle it. I have removed all videos of India’s Got Latant from my channel. My sole purpose was to make people laugh and spend good time. I will fully cooperate with all agencies to ensure that their investigation is conducted fairly. Thank you.’ Along with this, time has removed all the episodes of India’s Got latent from YouTube today, the controversial episode was removed on 10 February itself.
