Mumbai. Actor and filmmaker Prithviraj Sukumaran has been in the news for the last several years. He gained popularity with ‘Saalar’. Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff have become villains in the starrer ‘Bade Miyan Chhote Miyan’. These days he is in the news for ‘The Goat Life’. The film is making huge profits at the box office. Prithviraj has done a big physical transformation for the film. He has spoken openly on this. Regarding the film, he said that he knew that he would have to undergo heavy physical transformation.
Prithviraj Sukumaran had lost a lot of weight for this. The Malayalam film ‘Aadujeevitham’ or ‘The Goat Life’ has been directed by Blessy. The film is based on Benjamin Benjamin’s 2008 best-selling novel of the same name and tells the true story of Najeeb, an immigrant laborer from Kerala who was forced into forced labor on a goat farm in a country in the Middle East.
The magic of The Goat Life worked at the box office on the second Sunday, Prithviraj Sukumaran’s film collected so many crores.
Sukumaran told Variety.com, “As an actor, I knew I would have to lose a lot of weight for this, and also undergo a heavy physical transformation.” The film was shot in Kerala, Jordan and Algeria. Prithviraj first had to increase his weight for the Kerala shooting schedule. But for the next part of the film he had to reduce his weight by 31 kg.
Prithviraj Sukumaran was unable to recognize himself
Sukumaran said, “I surprised myself and everyone in the film crew. “The next time I arrived in Jordan, I was unrecognizable.” The shooting of the film was stopped due to Covid-19. Due to which the crew remained stuck in Jordan for months. When he came back after one and a half years, during this time the star had to increase his weight again to stay healthy.
Prithviraj Sukumaran lost weight twice
Sukumaran said, “For this he had to work hard again. I didn’t expect to have to do the entire weight loss process twice, which I had to do. Once you reach that level and become a part of the film, it is not easy to come back. I couldn’t let all that go to waste.”
