John Abraham’s Veda to release on August 15
John Abraham has been working in Hindi cinema for the last 2 decades and is one of the top stars of the industry. The actor has worked in many great films, yet he feels that the producers do not have full faith in him. Despite the success of films like ‘Vicky Donor’, ‘Madras Cafe’, ‘Batla House’, John Abraham feels that filmmakers ignore him. Even after proving himself, he has to convince the studio heads to support his film, due to which he has to struggle with funding and budget.
Studio heads still don’t believe it 100 percent: John
John Abraham discussed this in a conversation with Ranveer Allahabadia. He said- ‘I have produced Vicky Donor. I have done films like Madras Cafe, Batla House, but till date I have to convince the studio heads that this is a different film and please finance my process. Till date they do not trust me 100 percent and they tell me that the budget is too high.’
What did John say about the fees?
The actor also talked about his fees during this time and said that he does not charge more than his ‘aukaat’. According to John, his fees never affect the budget of the film, because he feels that if his film makes money then he will also benefit from it.
I make films according to my standards: John
John says- ‘As an actor, my fees never dominate the budget of the film. I feel that if the film earns, I will also benefit from it. That’s why I never want to burden the film. So whatever is my status, whatever is my standard, I make films according to that and I am very proud of my content.’
Studio heads don’t answer: John
During this, John also said that many times studio heads do not answer his calls. The biggest reason for this is that he does not use WhatsApp. He says- ‘First of all, I do not use WhatsApp, I message people and they do not reply to me. Many times I do not get a reply for a long time. I messaged a studio head, he said that he would talk later, but there was no reply from him for 4.5 months. I did not feel bad, but I deserve a reply. I think that if people have a little faith in me, then I would like to change Indian cinema a little. I am not saying that I am a game changer, but I would like to try.’
