Rockstar is counted among the best films of Ranbir Kapoor’s career.
Ranbir Kapoor was in the news last year for ‘Animal’. This film got a tremendous response from the audience, due to which it was one of the highest grossing films of the year. Ranbir Kapoor may not be active on social media, but his fan following is tremendous. After Animal, no film of Ranbir was released, but his cult classic ‘Rockstar’ definitely hit the theatres again, which once again got a tremendous response from the audience. The special thing is that Ranbir’s 12-year-old film seems to be leaving behind even the new films released in theatres recently.
These films were also released again
Apart from Ranbir-Nargis starrer Rockstar, Shahid Kapoor-Kareena Kapoor’s ‘Jab We Met’ and Ranbir-Deepika’s ‘Tamasha’ have also hit the theatres again. The special thing is that on re-release, more than 1 lakh people have reached the theatres to watch Ranbir-Nargis’ cult classic.
Rockstar released again after 12 years
The film’s lead actress Nargis Fakhri aka Heer has also expressed her happiness over the tremendous response to Rockstar. Rockstar was released in theatres in 2011 and after 12 years of its release, the film has once again made its way to theatres. Not only this, it was also successful in earning Rs 1.10 crore at the box office in India within two weeks. More than 1 lakh people have watched this film in 14 days. Interestingly, the film’s shows have been continued for the third week as well.
The film is getting tremendous response
Reacting to the response Rockstar has received on its re-release, Nargis Fakhri said, ‘The response to Rockstar’s re-release has made me very emotional. I wish I could feel it in person! To be honest, the love people have for the film has taken me back to the time when the film was first released. After 12 years, seeing people react to the film like this makes it feel like it’s my first film again. When we were working on the film, we had no idea that we were creating a classic story that would age like a fine wine. I still get DMs from fans asking how they liked the film. Time has passed but the emotions the film evoked at that time remain the same.

Rockstar is back again
Imtiaz Ali’s film has ended the drought in those theatres where there were not enough audiences despite new releases. The response to the film has proved that even though this film is quite old, its craze among the audience still remains. Once again, it has managed to gather crowds outside the theatres. Apart from Ranbir Kapoor and Nargis Fakhri, Rockstar also had stars like Aditi Rao Hydari, Shammi Kapoor, Piyush Mishra and Jaideep Ahlawat in the lead roles.
