Brydon Carse Ban: England fast bowler Brydon Carse has been banned for three months following an anti-corruption investigation. Brydon has accepted all the charges. He placed 303 bets on different cricket matches between 2017 and 2019. He was found to have violated the ECB’s gambling rules. He did not place bets on the matches in which he was playing. Now a big action has been taken against him.
Will not be able to participate in the series against West Indies
According to ESPNcricinfo’s report, this ban has been imposed on Brydon Carse keeping all the factors in mind. Now he will be eligible to play after 28 August 2024. Due to this, he will not be able to participate in England’s Test series against West Indies. His career has been tainted as soon as he was accused of betting.
So many matches played for England
28-year-old Brydon Carse made his ODI debut for England in 2021. He has so far taken 15 wickets in 14 ODIs and 4 wickets in 3 T20I matches. He was recalled to the England team for the ODI World Cup in India last year. He was given a two-year contract in the ECB’s central contract.
Brydon Carse pleaded guilty to all charges
An ECB spokesperson said that we take these matters very seriously and do not ignore any kind of anti-corruption violation in cricket. We support all the decisions in the case of Brydon Carse. Brydon has cooperated. We hope that his case can serve as a good example for other players. Dave Lewis, interim director of Cricket Regulator, said that Cricket Regulator takes any violation of integrity or misconduct rules seriously.
