‘Rashmi Rocket’ is made on a sensitive issue like gender testing. The film depicts a sprinter going through a test fight for his identity and self-respect. The subject matter is good, but the film does not reach the finish line.
Story: Rashmi Veera (Taapsee) runs fast since childhood, so people call her ‘Rocket’. Rashmi’s winning three medals in the Asian Games-2014 becomes a problem. He is forced to undergo a gender test. This is where the turning point in the movie comes.

direction: Akarsh Khurana’s direction is simple. There is a dialogue in the film- ‘Har victory is the result, effort is our work’. In terms of an effective movie, his efforts in screenplay, direction and editing are less visible. Some scenes and songs are unnecessary. The music is nothing special.
Acting: Taapsee has done justice to the character, but there is no freshness in the acting. Abhishek Banerjee attracts in the role of lawyer. Other artists are fine.
