New Delhi. Famous folk singer Sharda Sinha’s health suddenly deteriorated late in the evening, after which she has been put on ventilator. Sharda Sinha, who holds a prominent position in the field of Maithili and Bhojpuri music, has received prestigious honors like Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan. With his singing, he has given a new identity to folk music not only in Bihar but in the entire country. Sharda Sinha is considered as the cultural identity of Bihar and is especially known for her performances on major occasions like Chhath Puja. Because of his singing he is called the cultural ambassador of regional music. It is worth noting that he had also graced the occasion with his presentation during Mauritius Prime Minister Naveen Ramgoolam’s visit to Bihar.

Educational background and career in music
Sharda Sinha’s passion for music helped her reach higher education. According to media reports, after obtaining B.Ed degree, he did PhD in Music from Lalit Narayan Mithila University. This degree provides them the opportunity to pursue deeper study and research of music. She also took training in music from Magadh Mahila College and Prayag Sangeet Samiti, which further enhanced her musical skills.
For her contribution to music and culture, Sharda Sinha has received several awards from the Government of Bihar. He was awarded Padma Shri in 1991 and Padma Bhushan in 2018. These honors of his are not only a symbol of his love for art, but he has also taken Indian folk music to new heights. Currently, there is an atmosphere of concern among his fans due to the news of his deteriorating health. His fans and music lovers are praying for his speedy recovery.
