Man of the hour Ishaan Khattar is very much discussed these days. Recently he performed a strong performance in Netflix’s series ‘The Royals’, which received a good response from the audience and critics. The actor then made his brilliant debut with the premiere of his film ‘Homebound’ at the Cannes Film Festival. The film is directed by Masan fame Neeraj Ghaywan and it also featured Vishal Jethwa and Jahnavi Kapoor along with Ishaan. The special thing is that ‘Homebound’ received a 9 -minute standing ovation in Cannes. Ishaan Khattar has been a part of acclaimed projects like ‘Beyond the Clouds’ and ‘A Sutable Boy’ over the years. In ‘A Sutable Boy’, she worked with veteran actress Tabu, who is 24 years older than her. Despite this, there was a lot of appreciation for the chemistry of both of them.
Writing makes the story reliable
In a conversation with Zoom recently, Ishaan shared her experiences with Tabu. He said, “Me and Tabu were a perfect pair and the credit goes to the magnificent writing of the story. If we were cast in another script, in which the age gap was ignored, it would probably seem strange. But the script of the A Supplies Boy supported our work, which made everything natural and right.”
Tabu is like a child on the set
Ishaan reported that working with Tabu was a comfortable and fun experience for him. He said, “I have never been nervous. We did not need to make any special preparations for the intimate scenes between us. She used to talk very funny things on the set, like – ‘What is the food in lunch?’ Or ‘how did he kill?’ Extremely mischievous, but when the camera used to roll, she would immediately move in her character. ” He further said, “While working with Tabu, we felt that we were able to communicate with each other without speaking a lot. It seemed as if our eyes were talking to each other.”
A suitable boy’s background
Streaming on Netflix, this series is based on famous writer Vikram Seth’s novel A suitable boy, directed by Meera Nair. Ishaan and Tabu pair in the show were well received by the audience. Especially the deep chemistry and performance between them was widely appreciated. Ishaan Khattar has proved from his work that he is not only a star kid, but also a highly talented actor who has the ability to assimilate challenging characters.
