New Delhi. Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan has been discharged from Lilavati Hospital. Saif Ali Khan was admitted to the hospital after the attack on his house in the early hours of 16 January. This attack was carried out by a thief who had entered the house with the intention of stealing. He attacked Saif with a knife, causing serious injuries especially on his back. A two and a half inch piece of the knife had sunk into his back, which was removed through operation.
Accused arrested, on remand for 5 days
Mumbai Police has arrested a person named Mohammad Shariful Islam alias Shahzad in this case. The court has sent him on police remand for 5 days. On Tuesday morning, the police recreated the scene of the incident with the accused at Saif Ali Khan’s house.

The police took the accused and found out the entire route to enter the house from the back side of Saif’s building. The accused told that after crossing the gate, he had entered the house using the AC duct. After the incident he reached Bandra Railway Station. The police tried to connect the links of the investigation by recreating every activity of the accused.

19 fingerprints of the accused were found
Police have found 19 fingerprints of accused Shariful Islam from Saif’s building. These finger prints were found on the stairs, bathroom, duct shaft and window. Police say that these fingerprints can prove to be important evidence in the case.
The accused had entered the house with the intention of stealing
Police told in the press conference on Sunday that the accused is a Bangladeshi citizen and had entered Saif Ali Khan’s house with the intention of theft. After committing the incident, the accused was planning to flee to Bangladesh. But the police arrested him early on Sunday. Before being discharged from the hospital, the entire family including Saif’s mother Sharmila Tagore, wife Kareena Kapoor and daughter Sara Ali Khan reached the hospital. Saif will now rest at home. His family has thanked Mumbai Police.
