Salman Khan’s heroine was thrown out of the film overnight by the makers, fed up, she quit acting and became a hair stylist

New Delhi. In the year 1989, Salman Khan’s romantic-drama film ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’ was released. This was Bhagyashree’s first film and Salman Khan’s second, but it was his first movie as a lead actor. After its release, the film was a hit in the theatres. People showered a lot of love on this movie. Another actress had worked in ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’, who was much talked about. Her name is Parveen Dastur. She played the role of Seema in the film. But despite the film being a blockbuster, her career could not move forward. A few years ago, Parveen said goodbye to acting and became a full-fledged hair stylist.

Born in Mumbai, Parveen Dastur had no connection with the film industry. She started modeling during her college days. A director saw her and asked her to audition for a play. Parveen got selected in the audition and thus began her journey as an actress.

How did you get the movie Maine Pyar Kiya?
Sooraj Barjatya was looking for new faces for his first film ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’. At that time, Parveen was working in an English play with Naseeruddin Shah and Pearl Padamsee. Sooraj saw Parveen in a comedy play and liked her work very much. Even Sooraj Barjatya’s father became a fan of Parveen’s acting. After this, Parveen was cast for ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’.

She was out of Salman Khan’s film
After doing ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’, Parveen Dastur started getting film offers. She was offered Salman Khan’s movie ‘Sooryavanshi’ (1992). Parveen Dastur had signed the film, she even got the signing amount, but later the makers replaced Parveen with Amrita Singh in ‘Sooryavanshi’. Surprisingly, she got this information from an article published in a magazine.

She left acting and became a hairstylist
Parveen Dastur was seen in ‘Dil Ke Jharoke Mein’ released in the year 1997 but unfortunately the film did not do well at the box office. After this she quit acting. In an interview with ETimes, she revealed that she later became a hair stylist. Parveen Dastur said, ‘I was getting such offers in which there was nothing much to do. I have also been an air hostess for 15 years and also tried my hand in theater, but hair styling was always my passion, so I did a course in New York. Now I have my own small setup and I have been a hair stylist for the last 25 years.

After marriage, Parveen became the mother of two daughters
Talking about her personal life, Parveen dated model-actor Shahrukh Irani for many years and then they got married in 1992. The couple has two daughters. It is being told that Parveen Irani is going to make a comeback in the acting world with the mini series ‘Margo Files’. Stars like Zeenat Aman, Shilpa Shinde, Lilliput and Pallavi Joshi will be seen along with Parveen in this series. However, the release date of the series has not been announced yet.
