Hiramandi is the first series of an epic based on the courtiers of Lahore
Mumbai, Aug 10 (IANS) | Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Netflix have joined hands for the mega-series ‘Hiramandi’. Sanjay Leela Bhansali has completed 25 years as a filmmaker in the film industry, and he will now bring his obsessive project to life. Sharing his thoughts on ‘Hiramandi’, Sanjay Leela Bhansali said, “‘Hiramandi’ is an important milestone in my journey as a filmmaker. It is the first series of an epic based on the courtiers of Lahore. It’s an ambitious, grand and all-encompassing series; so I’m a little nervous to make it, but excited. I look forward to our partnership with Netflix and bringing ‘Hiramandi’ to audiences across the globe.”
The magnum opus series will explore the tales of manners and the hidden cultural reality of ‘Hiramandi’, a district during pre-independent India. This ‘kotha’ is a series about love, betrayal, succession and politics that promises Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s trademark larger-than-life sets, multi-faceted characters and soulful creations.
