Veteran actress of English film industry Shabana Azmi is celebrating her 74th birthday today. Shabana gave an interview on the occasion of her birthday and talked about her regret of not being able to become a mother. Not only this, she also told how she handled herself when she came to know that she cannot become a mother.

Shabana Azmi said in an interview to Indian Express, “It was very difficult for me to accept that I cannot become a mother. When a woman is unable to become a mother, this society makes her feel incomplete. In such a situation, you have to work hard to get yourself out of this. Women often judge their worth from their relationships, but a man does not do so. A man gets satisfaction from his career, his work. I think women should also find their happiness in their work.”
Shabana was stunned to hear her mother’s answer
Shabana Azmi further said, “You know when I asked my mother (late actress Shaukat Azmi)…my mother was a wonderful housewife and wife…so when I asked her what gives her the most satisfaction, she surprised me with her answer. She said that she gets satisfaction from her work and the appreciation she gets for it. I think women should rise above the bondage of relationships and work for themselves. I am not saying that they should turn away from their duties, not at all, but along with their duties, they should also do something for themselves so that their partner also respects them.
