The actor’s grandfather had fought for India in front of China, Siddharth played the role of martyr Vikram in the Kargil war.
Mumbai, Aug 14 (IANS) | Actor Sidharth Malhotra plays the role of Param Vir Chakra awardee Captain Vikram Batra, who was martyred in the 1999 Kargil War, in his latest film “Sher Shah”. His role as a soldier is being well appreciated by the audience. The role of Vikram Batra is closer to that of Siddharth as his grandfather also served in the Indian Army. “I would have loved to be in the Indian Army like my grandfather, who served the country and fought in the 1962 Indo-China war,” said Siddhartha.
There are many things in store for the actor from ‘Shershaah’. “I have learned a lot through this film, though I have experienced a bit of army from my grandfather, but here to really go deep about it, it is army etiquette, discipline.” “I think we have one of the best armies in the world. I was so happy to play a small role of this true-born hero.”
The actor’s upcoming films are ‘Thank God’ and ‘Mission Majnu’. Siddharth discussed this during a conversation with IMD.
