Sunil Dutt worked in about 50 films in his acting career. After being successful in his acting career, he also tried his hand at film production, but he did not like this work. Due to this work, his financial condition deteriorated a lot. Actually, Sunil Dutt was producing the film ‘Reshma Aur Shera’ and was also the lead actor in it. Sukhdev was directing the film, but Sunil Dutt did not like Sukhdev’s direction very much. After this, he decided to direct this film himself. The shooting of the film was completed to a large extent under the direction of Sukhdev, but Sunil Dutt decided to shoot it afresh. He also took a huge loan for this film.
Sunil had got a big shock
On one hand Sunil Dutt was in debt and on the other hand the film flopped. He suffered a big setback. As soon as the film flopped, people started asking him for his money back. Talking about this, Sunil Dutt had said in an old interview, ‘I had become bankrupt at that time. I had to sell my cars and I started traveling by bus. I had kept a car just to drop my children to school. Even my house was mortgaged.’ After a lot of hard work, Sunil Dutt came out of this difficult time and his financial condition improved again. At this time he got the support of his wife Nargis and children.
Tried his hand in many films
Let us tell you that Sunil Dutt’s life was not easy even in his childhood. He saw many ups and downs since his childhood days. He lost his father at the young age of 5 years. Somehow he was able to complete his studies. He took admission for higher education in Jai Hind College, Mumbai. Along with studies, he started looking for work to earn a living. In this search, he got a job as a bus conductor and he started doing it. After doing this for a few days, he worked as a radio jockey. After doing this for many years, he got his first film. In the year 1955, he worked in his first film ‘Railway Platform’. With this beginning, he never looked back.
