He was seen in the film ‘Chhichhore’ with Sushant, ‘Loop Lapeta’ with Taapsee and will also be seen in ’83’ with Ranveer Singh.
Mumbai, Sep 5 (IANS)| Actor Tahir Raj Bhasin has remembered Sushant Singh Rajput. His film ‘Chhichhore’ was released two years ago on this day. Tahir said that my fondest memories of shooting ‘Chhichhore’ are the parts shot at IIT Bombay. Hostel 4, on which the film is based, is actually there and shooting in the original corridors and canteens helped the entire cast to reminisce about their college.
The actor said that the film’s director Nitesh Tiwari had trained him under national level coaches for his performance as Derek in the film. He said that it was a challenging film. Nitesh Tiwari is a perfectionist and has coached me with national level sports coaches to prepare for Derek. Actor Tahir said on the completion of 2 years of the film that I took 4 months of training for athletics, football and kabaddi, it developed the physicality of the characters.
Then he talked about Sushant Singh Rajput, who passed away last year at the age of 34 at his home in Mumbai. Tahir said that it was an absolute pleasure to see Sushant working and spending time with him behind the scenes. “His wit was unparalleled and the vastness of his subjects of interest always entertained and enthralled the set.” The film tells the story of a middle-aged man who takes a trip down memory lane and reminisces about his college days with his friends, who were labeled a loser.
‘Chhichhore’ won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Hindi at the 67th National Film Awards announced in 2021. The actor says watching the film on TV brings a smile to his face. Tahir will now be seen as the romantic lead opposite Taapsee Pannu in ‘Loop Lapeta’ and opposite Shweta Tripathi in ‘Yeh Kali Kali Aankhen’.
The actor is also playing the role of Sunil Gavaskar in Kabir Khan’s ’83.
