New Delhi : People are liking the documentary ‘Secrets of the Buddha Relics’, directed by Raghav Jairath, which tries to answer many questions related to Buddha relics and Buddhism. The director spoke openly on this during a conversation. ‘Secrets of the Buddha Relics’ is woven around the last days of Gautam Buddha.
Talking about the show, Raghav told IANS, ‘The topic of ‘Secrets of the Buddha Relax’ was with us even before ‘Secrets of the Kohinoor’. We were doing research on this topic, but at that time the research was not deep enough to weave a story. After the release of ‘Secrets of the Kohinoor’ we studied this topic in depth.
Told interesting things related to Lord Buddha
The director said that everyone knows about Buddha and his teachings, but no one knows about his last days and the creation of the relics. He further said, ‘Why did they want remains to be made? While he did not believe in the concept of religion or idol worship, why did he want the remains to remain associated with the people? These ideas astonished us. The second thing is that Buddha traveled mostly between modern Bihar, parts of Uttar Pradesh and the borders of Odisha.
Documentary will air on Discovery on 26th February
The director claimed about Lord Buddha that he never visited China or Japan. Therefore, these relics became important, because they led to a different world, which led to the spread of his teachings.’ ‘Secrets of the Buddha Relics’ is available on Discovery Plus and will air on Discovery Channel on 26 February 2024.
