Talking about his debut film ‘Barsaat’, which was released almost 30 years ago, Bobby Deol said that his first director was so scared of launching him that he pulled out of the film at the last moment.
When ‘The Great Indian Kapil Show’ host Kapil Sharma asked Bobby Deol whether he or his directors were scared before his Bollywood debut or was there any pressure on him being Dharmendra’s son and Sunny Deol’s brother. In response to this question, Bobby laughingly says that perhaps Shekhar Kapur had left the film for this reason. According to Bobby Deol, Shekhar Kapur, who had directed films like ‘Mr. India’, was scared of his legacy. However, the actor believes that there was never any kind of pressure on him.
Shekhar Kapur had started shooting
Shekhar Kapur had shot a scene with Bobby Deol before leaving the film ‘Barsaat’, but then he withdrew from the film and started shooting for his critically acclaimed film ‘Bandit Queen’. Let us tell you, in 1995, both Twinkle Khanna and Bobby Deol made their Bollywood debut with the film ‘Barsaat’ and both were awarded the award as debut actors for their brilliant acting in the film.
The film made strong earnings
After Shekhar Kapur, Rajkumar Santoshi took over the direction of the film. According to media reports, this film, made with a budget of Rs 8.25 crore, had earned a huge amount of Rs 34 crore at the box office.
