After this, many films came to Twinkle’s credit. Twinkle worked in films like Jaan with Ajay Devgan, Dil Tera Deewana with Saif Ali Khan. After working in about half a dozen films, Twinkle’s films started flopping. Twinkle signed Mela in the year 1999 and completed the shooting. Aamir Khan starrer film Mela was released in theaters on 7 January 2000 and failed at the box office. This film of director Dharmesh Darshan was made with a budget of Rs 18 crore. The film had a worldwide earning of Rs 29 crore. But this film proved to be a big flop at the box office. Aamir Khan himself has talked about this film many times. Some time back, Aamir Khan had told in an interview to PTI that this has been one of the worst films of his career.
