Hollywood reporter’s Anupama Chopra spoke openly about her journey of film review and talked about various aspects that make her work interesting. Talking to Akshay Rathi in India TV’s ‘The Film Hasle’ podcast, Anupama Chopra said that people still dislike him today due to Ranveer Singh and Vaani Kapoor’s love. He also spoke about an incident when one of his subscribers from the film Companion said that he could no longer trust Anupama’s reviews.
Why fans deteriorate on film reviewers?
Akshay Rathi, the host of the podcast, started saying that the film review is a very subjective work and cannot be evaluated. On which Anupama said that Ranveer Singh was disliked for praising Befikre. Akshay further said that both of them are hated due to liking that film. Anupama Chopra said, ‘Not only Befikre, but many films which I liked, her experience was the same. So much so that once a man said, ‘Now you have lost faith’, just because I had said positive for the film that he did not like. ‘

The film critic further said in the conversation that people feel that film reviewers are arrogant people who do not like anything, but it is not so. ‘I think my job is not to calm the ego of big filmmakers, but to make small budget films in the headlines. Film Critics Guild Chairperson said that I have to tell people that, hey, this is a film that has possibilities and if they need people praise to get recognition, then this is the case. Talking about big budget films, Anupama said that there are many films that have earned well despite poor critics, Pushpa 2 is a great example. ‘There are big films that do not need critics to recognize. For example, what can I say about Pushpa 2 who could contribute or stop it in its great performance at the box office? But if there is something other than the mainstream that can attract attention because I was able to impress three out of 5 people, then I am there. ‘
Why stop your startup
Anupama Chopra had created an organization of her own. In this, Anupama worked hard and was connected for a long time. Many types of podcasts, interviews and round table conversations continued in this organization. But later Anupama stopped this. When asked about this, Anupama said, ‘I am actually a journalist. I can’t do business. Running a company is not part of my skill set. Because when you have ownership in organization, which also increases your responsibility. So I closed it. ‘ Anupama Chopra also started this startup at the behest of her husband Vidyu Vinod Chopra.
