The film ‘The Kashmir Files’ made on Kashmiri Pandits is in discussion these days. The film received support from the central government including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and several leaders of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The film has been made tax free in Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Karnataka, Tripura and Goa.
Meanwhile, Savita Raj Hiremath, the producer of Amitabh Bachchan starrer film ‘Jhund’, has raised questions regarding this issue. He says that his film also gives a message to the audience. His film is made about the development of the country, which is important, so why was it not made tax free? Savita Raj Hiremath has presented her side through her Facebook post on March 18.
He wrote, ‘I recently watched ‘Kashmir Files’ and as a story of exodus of Kashmiri Pandits, it is a heart-wrenching film. This is a story that needs to be told. This is a good voice for Kashmiri Pandits. But as the producer of ‘Jhund’, I am shocked. ‘Jhund’ is also an important film. Which gives a big message, which is getting a lot of praise from the audience.
Users have given their reactions to his post. A user named Rohit Shukre wrote, “Jhund and The Kashmir Files are like Lagaan and Gadar of today’s times.” Sanjay Singh wrote, “Jhund is also a very good film, but don’t compare it with Kashmir Files.” Vijay Pathi wrote, “If you really feel that the herd needs to be tax free, anyone can approach the government. But comparison with other films is unfair.”
Let us tell you that ‘Jhund’ has been released on March 4. In this film, Amitabh Bachchan is playing the role of retired teacher Vijay Barse from Nagpur. Which, seeing the talent in the children of small areas, makes them the best players of football. This is the first Hindi film of the producer of this film, Savita Raj. Earlier, he has made great films like Fandry and Sairat.
Kashmir Files has crossed the 100 crore mark: Vivek Agnihotri’s ‘The Kashmir Files’ was released in theaters on March 11, a week after the release of Jhund. The film is based on the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits in 1990. The film has crossed the Rs 100 crore mark so far, and on the eighth day of its release, it has added Rs 19.15 crore.
