In an interview with The Hindu about her role in the film, Aparna Balamurali said, “Aparna is a curious woman, there are events happening around her which are beyond her understanding, because she is new to the place. Everything is new, and she’s trying to adapt. His character travels with the audience, as the story unfolds, so does it for him.” Aparna further said, “There are some films which feel good to be a part of… The size of the character does not matter. Kishkindha Kaandam is one such film. It has many layers – it depicts human relationships, their various aspects and the emotional ups and downs associated with them.”
Director’s view about the film
Talking about its story, the film’s director Dinjeet said, “The tagline of our film is ‘Three Wise Monkeys’. Every character in the film is intelligent in his own way, which becomes understandable as the story progresses. Many people were curious as to why we named it ‘Kishkindha Kaandam’. The characters of the film live on the edge of the forest and their lives are completely linked to that ecosystem. Since Kishkindha was the name of the mythological kingdom where Sugriva and Bali ruled, I thought it would be an interesting name for the film. When I suggested this, everyone liked it. However, this film has no direct connection with the mythology of Kishkindha – we have just borrowed the name.”
Aparna Balamurali was last seen in the Tamil film ‘Rayaan’, in which she was seen alongside Dhanush, Dushara Vijay, Sundarap Kishan, Kalidas Jayaram, SJ Suryah, Selvaraghavan and Prakash Raj. Whereas, Asif Ali was recently seen in the film ‘Adios Amigo’, which received mixed response from the audience.
