In a conversation with Siddharth Kannan, Seema Kapoor said that she had engaged with Om Puri in 1989. Before marriage, both of them dated each other for more than 10 years. Talking about Om Puri’s affair with the maid, Seema said- ‘Invitation had been sent. We belonged to a small town, Jhalawar, where my parents had great respect. He (Om Puri) took me to the banks of the river and told me to tell me something. Then he told me about his affair. I did not dare to cancel it a day before marriage.

Further in the interview, Seema Kapoor shared that he could not understand why Om Puri told this a day before the wedding? If he had told them this first, things could have been different. Seema says- ‘This is a toxic masculinity, she misleads you to think that they have been honest with you and you have the freedom to make decisions, but I do not think they were someone who used to play with minds.’

Seema said that her X husband did not know how to handle delicate situations and in such a situation he used to hurt others. He told that in his last years, Om Puri contacted him and also apologized to him. According to Seema, Om Puri admitted that his behavior with him was not good.
