Gaurav Jha/ Madhubani:- Vijay Mishra, a resident of Arer under Madhubani district, started his cinematic career with Maithili cinema “Garibak Beti” and is today acting in Bollywood films. After giving dozens of Maithili hit films, he is also playing his role in Hindi speaking films.
Talking to Local 18, Vijay says that his education was done in a rural environment only. He was fond of cinema since his childhood. So, after saving money, he used to go to the cinema with friends. Seeing the cinematic scenes, he also had a desire to act. That’s why he chose this field.
Started with this film in the year 2004
Maithili film “Garibak Beti” released in 2004 was Vijay Mishra’s first film. After this, after giving hits in dozens of Maithili films like Love You Dulhan, Suhagin, Khurluchchi, she got a chance in a Hindi film directed by director Manoj Jha.
Have played important roles in this film
In the movie Rifleganj starring Ompuri and Mohan Joshi, Vijay has played the role of a police officer, who gets influenced by a group of Naxalites and later becomes a Naxal. The name of his character in this film was Arjun Singh.
Apart from Hindi, he has also worked in local language cinema. His character is also very important in the Maithili movie based on the life of world famous Maithil poet Vidyapati. This movie is going to be launched soon on the screens of Mithilanchal as well as many other places in the country.

Vijay is sad over the lack of market for Maithili cinema.
Surprised by the lack of expansion of Maithili cinema and the laxity of the audience, Vijay expresses his disappointment and says that the audience here does not respond to Maithili cinema as is needed in the market. People in Maithili speaking states should watch their linguistic cinema at least once and give feedback, so that Maithili cinema can also expand.
