New Delhi: TV actor Pankit Thakkar narrowly escaped the terrorist attack in Reasi, Jammu and Kashmir. He told how he escaped from this attack. Pankit Thakkar is known for his strong acting in many shows including ‘Dil Mil Gaye’, ‘Kumkum – Ek Pyara Sa Bandhan’, ‘Bahu Hamari Rajni Kant’, ‘Tujhse Hai’.
Pankit Thakkar said that he had gone to Jammu and Kashmir to visit the Mata Vaishno Devi temple in Katra. However, he came to know about the attack before he could visit and returned to his hotel. He said that he could not complete his pilgrimage. In an interview to a media outlet, Pankit said, ‘It was extremely terrifying. It took me several days to come out of this fear and talk about it. I saw people in pain and writhing. It was scary. I am very sad and angry about the recent terrorist attack in Reasi, Jammu.’
innocent people lost their lives
The actor called the ongoing violence in Jammu and Kashmir ‘shameful’ and said that it is disappointing to see the loss of innocent lives and the growing tension in the area. He further said, ‘My condolences to the victims and their families who have become victims of this brutal attack. It is terrifying to even think that people are losing their lives due to such violence. Jammu and Kashmir has always been a land of unmatched beauty, but these incidents are spoiling the image and peaceful atmosphere here. We must unite against such incidents, cowardice and evil.’
The bus full of pilgrims was attacked by terrorists
On June 9, terrorists attacked a 53-seater bus carrying pilgrims. This bus was going from Shiv Khori temple to Mata Vaishno Devi temple in Katra. To catch the terrorists involved in this attack, Jammu Kashmir Police released the sketch of the terrorists and announced a reward of Rs 20 lakh to the person giving information about them.
