Udaipur Files Release Controversy: Supreme Court did not stop the release of Udaipur files, transferred the case to Delhi High Court, Supreme Court Did Not Stop The release of Udaipur Files, Case Transferred to Delhi HIGH COURT

New Delhi. The case related to the release of the film Udaipur files has been transferred by the Supreme Court to the Delhi High Court. However, the Supreme Court has not banned the release of the film on its behalf. The Supreme Court has asked the High Court to hear the case on Monday 28 July and the pending petitions should be decided soon. A bench of Justices Suryakant of the apex court and Justice Joyamalya Bagchi said that it had not given any adjournment and the High Court is suitable for hearing the case.

Javed, accused of killing Maulana Arshad Madni and Kanhaiyalal, the president of Jamiat Ulema -e -Hind, had filed a petition seeking to stop the film’s release. They say that the Muslim community is being targeted through the film. On behalf of the central government, SG Tushar Mehta told the court that the film is based on a specific crime, not against any community. Earlier, the appointed committee constituted by the Central Government approved the release of the film with 6 cuts (sanskars).

On the other hand, in the Supreme Court today, filmmaker’s lawyer Gaurav Bhatia said that despite the approval of the censor board and the government, his client’s life was destroyed due to his non -release. On this, Justice Suryakant said that, due to this controversy, the film has got a lot of publicity. The more publicity, the more number of people will go to see the film, so I do not think the producer will have to suffer losses. With this, the Supreme Court allowed the filmmakers to withdraw the petition from the apex court against the High Court order. Significantly, the film is based on the murder of Kanhaiyalal, a tailor from Udaipur. This is being opposed by an accused of Jamiat and murder. The release of this film was earlier stayed by the Delhi High Court, after which the filmmaker challenged this order in the Supreme Court.
