Veteran Kannada actor Sarigama Vijay has passed away. At the age of 77 he said goodbye to this world. His treatment was going on at Manipal Hospital in Yesvantpur for the last four days. Many of his organs had stopped functioning, after which he was brought to the hospital. On January 12, his health deteriorated slightly, after which he was shifted to the Intensive Care Unit. Despite the best efforts of the doctors, Sarigama Viji could not recover and died today.

His mortal remains will be taken to his residence in Mahalakshmipuram at 1 pm today, where his family members, close friends, relatives and loved ones will be able to pay their last respects. Fans and well-wishers can visit his residence from 1 pm today to 10 am tomorrow (January 16) to bid him a last farewell. The last rites will take place tomorrow at 10 am at Chamarajpet cremation ground. Sarigama Viji was a beloved actor in the Kannada film and small screen industry, known for his remarkable acting skills and memorable performances. He has also given many successful films in his career.

His demise is a huge loss for the Kannada film industry and his fans. The film industry has been deeply shocked. His contribution to Kannada cinema cannot be forgotten. Sarigama Viji’s real name was R Vijayakumar. Apart from the world of film and TV, Sarimaga was also very active in the world of theatre. Viji was married and had a son. Before venturing into acting, he worked at NGEF. He started his career in 1975 with the Kannada film ‘Beluvalada Madilali’. By the year 2018, he had done more than 250 Kannada films. He had also worked as an assistant director in 80 films. 1000 shows of theater acts directed by him were held in cities like Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad and Mumbai. The name of this play was ‘Sansardalli Sarigama’. Theater group Yashasvi produced this popular play.
