Mumbai. Bollywood actor Vicky Kaushal spoke openly about the nervousness he felt while shooting for the war drama film ‘Sam Bahadur’ based on the life of Sam Manekshaw. Vicky has played the role of Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw in this film directed by Meghna Gulzar.
Vicky, who reached the stage of ‘The Great Indian Kapil Show’ with his brother Sunny Kaushal, shared an incident related to the shooting of the film. The actor said that when you get to play such characters, the responsibility becomes huge. I met Sam Bahadur’s daughter Maya (aged between 75-80 years) several times. To know how he walked and spoke.
He himself told the story of the shooting of the film
We were shooting in Delhi, and I have never been so nervous in front of the camera. He further said that Sam Bahadur’s daughter was watching the shot behind the camera. I was scared, because I knew I wouldn’t have the courage to ask whether I did it right or not. All I knew was that if I looked into his eyes, and he didn’t like it, my confidence would be shattered and more than half of the film would be left to be shot.
But I was very happy to see that he had tears in his eyes after seeing the shot and that boosted my confidence. The ‘Uri’ fame actor said that the biggest award for me is when a military film is approved by the army and they appreciate your performance. ‘The Great Indian Kapil Show’ streams on Netflix every Saturday at 8 pm.
