Protest against Azaan over loudspeakers has started in Maharashtra. After the statement of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena President Raj Thackeray, MNS workers started playing Hanuman Chalisa with loudspeakers in Mumbai. When the police took action on this, the filmmaker took a jibe at the government.
Filmmaker Ashok Pandit wrote on Twitter, “Similarly, in 1992, Balasaheb started Maha Aarti on the streets against these loudspeakers in mosques. Then thousands of people used to worship in the streets. The law cannot be implemented according to the politics of votes, but should be one for all. Where are the noise pollution activists?”
People’s reactions: A user named Amrit Rajpurohit wrote that in the state where there is a BJP government, it should be closed. When the BJP government was there in Maharashtra, why was it not stopped then, Shiv Sena was also there at that time. A user named Shabir wrote that “It is called jealousy, have Muslims ever done such a thing on your festival, all this is bullying to harass the Muslims.”
A user named Siddharth wrote that “Government should ban loudspeakers. Noise pollution occurs 5 times a day in every small town. Walks 1-2 times a month but 5 times a day is too much. A user named Maria wrote that “This drama is going on for BMC elections, after which Raj Thackeray will go underground again. Hindus don’t get caught up in all this.”
A user named Prashant Pathak wrote that “Be respectful of everyone’s faith, we will not tolerate this exemption for just one community at all.” We will also play Hanuman Chalisa.” A user named Shamsher wrote that “Noise pollution is noise pollution, whether it comes from this loudspeaker or that. There are already court orders against noise pollution. Government of India should stop this noise pollution being spread by loudspeakers of religious places.
Let us inform that MNS President Raj Thackeray had said that loudspeakers should be removed from mosques or else we will play Hanuman Chalisa in front of them. After this, Hanuman Chalisa was being played outside an MNS office in Ghatkopar area of Mumbai, on which the police have taken action.
