Yo Yo Honey Singh has made his special place not only in the Punjabi film industry but also in the Bollywood industry. He has given many superhit songs in his singing career so far. His rap and singing style has been much talked about. However, objections are often raised about Honey Singh’s songs. Many times controversies have also come up regarding this. Honey was also accused of using wrong words for women. In such a situation, now Honey Singh himself has spoken openly on this. He targeted Gulzar, questioning his being targeted?
Where is a woman’s courage?
Honey Singh recently gave an interview to Times of India. During this, Honey answered all the questions asked openly. When asked about the controversies surrounding his songs, the rapper said, ‘It doesn’t matter to me, but I feel that now I should answer it.’ Honey then gave the example of Gulzar’s songs and said that why people never questioned the songs of respected writers like him, ‘Bidi Jalai Le Jigar Se Piya, Jigar Mein Badi Aag Hai’. ‘Where is the liver of a woman?’
I grew up hearing all this
After this, Honey Singh further mentioned another song of Gulzar. He said, ‘Another of his songs is ‘Jubaan Par Laga Namak Ishq Ka’ and ‘Choli Ke Peeche Kya Hai’. Why is he talking about a woman’s tongue… I have grown up listening to all this. Why am I the only one wrong?’
Why is only Honey Singh targeted?
Honey Singh has been silent on all these allegations against him for years. He believes that he has always been an easy target. But now when he was asked about objectifying women in his songs, Honey broke his silence. He replied, “It doesn’t happen like this”. He sang such songs and was considered a legend. Honey further said, ‘But why is only Honey Singh abused and you call him a legend? I also say so. We are living in today’s era of dual personality. We are becoming modern but also have backward thinking.’
