Palak, who played the role of Sonu, left the show last month after the makers sent her a legal notice for breaking her contract. Now, the makers have announced actress Khushi Mali as the new Sonu in ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’. On the show’s official Instagram account, the makers shared a picture of Khushi and wrote, ‘Welcome Khushi Mali as Sonu Bhide to the TMKOC family. You also give a lot of love to our new Sonu. Khushi get ready to light up Gokuldham with your energy and fun. On casting Khushi, the show’s producer Asit Kumar Modi said, ‘Sonu is an important part of Tappu Sena and her presence has always made the audience laugh.’
Khushi Mali replaced Palak Sindhwani
Asit Modi further said, ‘The decision to cast Khushi Mali is right and we believe that she will play this character well. We are excited to welcome Khushi and will support her fully. We hope that our viewers will give it the same love that they have given to the show and its characters for the last 16 years. After being a part of the show for five years, Palak got embroiled in controversies for breaking the contract. Although Palak initially maintained silence, later she also made some serious allegations against the makers of the show and accused her of mentally torturing her as well as not paying her dues. Now Palak Sindhwani has been replaced by Khushi Mali in the show, who is famous for her role in the TV show ‘Sajha Sindoor’.
