Despite being at the height of her career, Madhuri Dixit surprised everyone with her decision to move away from the film world. His fans were quite disappointed with his decision. The actress married US-based doctor Shriram Nene in 1999 and after that, choosing a life away from the glitz and glamor of Bollywood, she shifted to Colorado with her husband. However, in the meantime she continued to appear in some films occasionally. But, his sudden decision to go abroad left his fans very disappointed. During this time, Madhuri gave birth to two sons, Arin and Ryan, and raised them. However, the actress decided to return to India in 2011 after more than a decade and made her fans happy.
What did Madhuri say on moving away from Bollywood?
Now Madhuri has opened up about her decision to leave behind her flourishing career and stressed that she never regrets her decision. While talking to Galatta India, Madhuri Dixit spoke openly on this. She said- ‘I was very happy for me, because the material did not matter much to me. I like what I do. I love acting, dancing and everything related to the profession. Anything else is a bonus. Like people consider you a star. But, I never felt that way. It was never like for me that oh God, I am going away from people’s sight. I am getting married at the peak of my career. I never thought like that.
What did Madhuri say about marriage?
Madhuri also openly discussed her perspective on marriage. She said- “I felt that the person I have met is right for me. This is the man I want to marry and I’m going to marry this guy because everyone dreams for themselves. For me it was having a house, a husband, a family and children. I like children. So, having kids was a big part of that dream.”

When asked if she missed her life in Bollywood during those years, Madhuri said- “When people say, oh, you were away from the industry, didn’t you miss it all? So I say ‘No, I didn’t miss because I was living my dream.’
