New Delhi. Today marks the completion of 1 month of marriage of Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal. Both of them held each other’s hands in a very simple way and transformed their 7 years of special friendship into a new relationship. Their marriage has been in the news for quite some time. One reason behind this is that both of them belong to different religions. Sonakshi belongs to Hinduism and Zaheer belongs to Islam. Both of them held each other’s hands with the consent of their families. A month after the marriage, Zaheer has made a shocking revelation. He told that he wanted to elope with Sonakshi and marry her.
Ever since the news of Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal’s marriage broke on 23 June, people were anxious to know how the two would get married? Will they take seven vows as per Hindu rituals or will they do Nikah as per Islam? Sonakshi and Zaheer did not follow rituals and had a civil marriage. A month after the marriage, Zaheer revealed that he was about to drive Sonakshi out of his house. But things got worse.
Zaheer Iqbal had a plan to elope with Sonakshi!
The actor revealed this while talking to Galatta India. He also told why this plan failed. When the actor was asked why he decided to have a simple wedding, the actor replied, ‘I wanted to elope with Sonakshi and get married. I wanted to go to some other place and then return to India’.
Why did Zaheer’s plan to elope with Sonakshi fail?
Zaheer Iqbal further said, but then I came to know that this is not legal in India. We both cannot go to Los Vegas and get married. Because this is illegal in India. But Sonakshi always said that she always wanted an intimate wedding. Sonakshi further said jokingly – and in this way Zaheer’s plan failed completely.
Zaheer and Sonakshi had a civil marriage. Zaheer and Sonakshi were seen performing rituals related to their religions separately.

Sonakshi further said, ‘I always wanted a simple wedding and Zaheer was also happy to hear my words. We both are happy that our close friends and family members were present at our wedding’. The couple further said that they always wanted those who are a part of our life to be present at our wedding.
The reason behind the party?
She also talked about the grand party that happened after the wedding. The actress said that both of them wanted to have a grand party after the wedding. Sonakshi further said that a party was a must because it was Zaheer and Sona’s wedding.
