Chandigarh, May 28 (IANS). A 40 -year -old man infected with Corona virus died on Wednesday at the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) in Chandigarh.
This case was the first case that came up at a health center in Chandigarh.
However, the hospital administration has not yet stated whether the patient had JN.1 variant or not.
The patient was originally from Firozabad in Uttar Pradesh. He was referred from Ludhiana to GMCH Chandigarh after Kovid-19 was found positive.
A day earlier, Dr. Ashok Atri, director of GMCH, had said that the information of the patient was recorded in the necessary format and is isolated in Kovid ward, where two ventilaters were installed.
The first case of Corona in Punjab came to light two days ago, when a 51 -year -old woman from Yamunanagar, Haryana, was tested at Fortis Hospital in Mohali and turned out to be corona positive.
Haryana Health Minister Aarti Singh Rao stated last week that there are four active cases of Corona in the state, including two cases in Gurugram and Faridabad.
No travel history of infected people was found.
The minister said in a statement on May 23, “No patient is required to be hospitalized and all are being carefully taken care of by doctors. These four people have been charged with Corona vaccine. A patient from Gurugram, who was found earlier infected, is now completely cured.”
He said that after new cases of Corona in different parts of the country, the health department is keeping an eye on the situation and is taking necessary steps for the safety and preparation of the people.
