Bhubaneswar, 7 April (IANS). Special events are being organized in the country on International Yoga Day. Something similar was held on 7 April in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. Yoga Festival-2025 was organized here. On this occasion, MP Sambit Patra said, “The 75 -day count down of International Yoga Day has started from Odisha today.”
The program was attended by several dignitaries including Union Minister Prataprao Jadhav, BJP MP Sambit Patra, Odisha Deputy Chief Minister Vavati Parida. The event was organized with the aim of raising awareness of yoga and spreading it to the people.
Talking to the media, BJP MP Sambit Patra said, “Today, 75 days of Count Down of International Yoga Day is starting from Odisha. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given yoga recognition on the global stage. After becoming Prime Minister in 2014, he presented Yoga in the United Nations as a soft power of India, after which it is becoming popular in the whole world. I appeal to the people of Odisha to make Yoga a part of my life.”
Highlighting the importance of Yoga Mahotsav-2025, Union Minister Prataprao Jadhav said, “This year we are celebrating 11th International Yoga Day. The second program in Bhubaneswar under Yoga Mahotsav-2025 was successfully concluded. Now the third program will be held in Nashik, Maharashtra. Yoga is necessary for physical and mental health and we appeal to all regular practices.”
Odisha Deputy Chief Minister Vavati Parida expressed pride in hosting the Yoga Festival. He said, “Odisha’s calm and natural environment is very favorable for yoga. People in the villages of the state are practicing it regularly by joining yoga committees. I appeal to all the people of Odisha to adopt yoga and live a healthy life.”
Yoga performance, meditation sessions and health workshops were also organized in the event, in which a large number of people participated. Yoga Festival-2025 will prove to be an important step to increase the enthusiasm of yoga not only in Odisha but also in the whole country.
