Mumbai, 21 June (IANS). Bollywood veteran actor Anupam Kher, currently in New York, expressed pride in representing India at the 11th International Yoga Day held at Times Square in Big Apple. He described this opportunity as a great opportunity to spread the importance of Indian culture and yoga globally.
Anupam shared several videos and photos from International Yoga Day celebrated at Times Square on Saturday morning on Instagram.
In a video, Anupam Kher is heard saying: “Namaste, it is very good to see yoga in this world’s most famous place. I have seen my grandfather doing yoga since childhood. Yoga is not only good for our body, but also very beneficial for our mind. It was a great initiative.”
In other pictures and videos, Anupam Kher can be seen doing yoga with people at Times Square.
While sharing this post, Anupam wrote in the caption, “Yoga in Times Square, New York: Proud and respect for me was that I was present at this famous place on the 11th International Yoga Day from India. Thank you for calling me in this special event. To do yoga in this magnificent atmosphere was a wonderful feeling. Jai Hind.”
International Yoga Day is a special day, which is celebrated worldwide on 21 June every year. This day is to recognize the importance of yoga. The session of celebrating Yoga Day was given by Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi to the United Nations in 2014, which was approved.
Talking about the workfront, Anupam Kher is in discussion about the film ‘Tanvi the Great’ these days. He has directed this film. The film stars Shubhangi Dutt, Boman Irani, Jackie Shroff, Arvind Swamy, Pallavi Joshi, Karan collision and Nasir in important roles.
The film ‘Tanvi the Great’ is scheduled to release in theaters on 18 July.
