Bhubaneswar, 11 April (IANS). Taking a big step towards strengthening health services in Odisha, the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) was launched. State Deputy Chief Minister Praveshi Parida reacted to the scheme. He called it a ‘promise of health protection’ by the central government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Speaking to the media, Deputy Chief Minister Parida said that this scheme is a big gift from the Modi government for the people of Odisha. Under this, free treatment of up to Rs 5 lakh has been ensured for men, along with an additional Rs 5 lakh cover for women. Through Ayushman ‘Bayo Bandana Yojana’, the elders are also being provided free treatment facility. This scheme is a commendable step towards protecting the health of the elderly in the state.
Highlighting the main features of the scheme, he said that it is a completely cashless facility. People of Odisha can avail this in more than 29 thousand hospitals across India. It is the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi that every citizen should get quality and free health services.
Let us know that Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) was inaugurated on Friday at Balizatra Maidan in Cuttack. Union Health Minister JP Nadda participated in this grand ceremony. During this period, Gopabandhu Jan Arogya Yojana (GJAY) and Atal Vayo Abhyudaya Yojana (AVYAY) were also launched. The purpose of these schemes is to provide better health services to poor, elderly and needy people. In this program, people gathered in large numbers and Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Ashwini Vaishnav, Juel Oram, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Deputy Chief Minister KV Singhdev and Praveshi Parida, Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling were present.
Under the Ayushman Bharat Scheme, poor families will get free treatment up to five lakh rupees every year. Gopabandhu Jan Arogya Yojana and Atal Vayo Abhyudaya Yojana will easily provide health facilities to the elderly and disadvantaged sections. These schemes are expected to increase the reach of health services in Odisha.
Local people appreciated the event. Many people said that these schemes will prove to be a boon for the poor. This effort of the Odisha government and the central government will improve health services in the state. This ceremony of Cuttack not only introduced health plans, but also raised new hope among the people. This step is an important initiative towards making Odisha healthy and rich.
