New Delhi, 4 April (IANS). The Delhi government on Friday took an important decision regarding the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana. Important information related to implementing this scheme has been revealed in the cabinet meeting held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Rekha Gupta.
Under the Ayushman scheme in Delhi, about 2.5 lakh people are expected to get its benefits in the initial phase. According to preliminary information, the benefit of Ayushman Yojana will be first given to AAY and BPL card holders. Under this, people of the poor and underprivileged people of Delhi will be able to take advantage of this scheme. A formal agreement will be reached between the Delhi government and the central government on 5 April in this regard. An MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) will be signed under this agreement.
The registration of the scheme will be started from 10 April. In this first phase, 1 lakh poor people will be registered within a month and they will be able to become beneficiaries of Ayushman Yojana. This scheme will bring a big relief for the poor and needy people in Delhi, so that the benefits of health facilities will be able to reach more and more people.
The Delhi government has targeted to provide better health services to them keeping in mind the priority weaker sections under this scheme. With the benefit of health insurance through Ayushman Yojana, millions of families will get relief from expensive cost of treatment.
It is noteworthy that Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY) is a health insurance scheme that provides financial security for secondary and tertiary healthcare to economically weaker families. Beneficiaries can get cashless treatment in listed hospitals, which ensure cheap health services and reduce medical expenditure from pockets.
