How to keep Gut Health OK
Nowadays people have been alert about Gut Health. The earliest effect of eating and drinking is on our gut health. Gut means our stomach i.e. large intestine. Thousands of bacteria are found in the gut which weighs around 1 kg according to an estimate. These small bacteria play an important role in stomach and digestion. But it is not that only good bacteria live in the gut. The gut also contains some bad bacteria, which attack many times. Let us know how to keep gut health right and what are the enemies of good bacteria flourishing in the gut?
Take care of Gut Health, in the India TV Speed News Wellness Weekend Program, we talked to Dr. Amarendra Singh Puri (Vice Chairman, IDSH, Medanta) spoke to what it proves to be dangerous for Gut Health. Dr. Amarendra Singh Puri said that ‘many times you have anything infection and you start taking antibiotics. Antibiotics are used to cure infections, but these drugs affect that bacteria as well as the stomach i.e. gut health.
Antibiotics damage good bacteria
Repeatedly when we consume antibiotics for a long time, gut bacteria also start to damage. Especially after 50-60 years when biodiversity loses. In such a situation, it starts damaging antibiotic good bacteria. Which can cause diarrhea. There is one mild diarrhea, which is called anti -biotic associated diarrhea and one is so serious that it can also cause death. This happens when all the good bacteria of the gut die. When only bad bacteria are left, they can damage the intestine. Can damage the kidney. Even death can occur in such a situation.
Use antibiotic medicines thoughtfully
Doctor Amarendra Singh Puri says that use antibiotics thoughtfully. If someone’s stomach is bad then people take antibiotics, which is absolutely wrong. Because most of the problems that occur at the age are self -limiting. These are viral diarrhea. In this, antibiotic benefits are very low and the disadvantage is very high. Therefore, take antibiotics that are done with the advice of a doctor. The use of polymorphic ie multiple use of antibiotics is not good. Especially those who are older should avoid it. If you take an antibiotic for 1 month, it can cause a lot of damage.
Bad gut health gives birth to these diseases
If the gut health deteriorates for a long time, it increases the risk of autoimmune disease. Autoimmune disease means the cells of your body start attacking you. This can cause you autoimmune pancreas, autoimmune thyroid and autoimmune nerve system. It has a huge roll of gut bacteria. In such a situation, the bacteria found inside our body attack their own body, due to which the intestine starts getting damaged badly. It consists of two diseases ulcerative colitis and Crohn disease. Both of these are autoimmune disease.
