Patna, May 31 (IANS). The Bihar government has become alert and monitoring it after getting patients of Corona once again in various states of the country including Bihar. Senior officials of the Health Department are also meeting with the civil surgeons of the district.
Health Minister Mangal Pandey said that there is no need to fear this new variant of Korona. He told reporters that after getting information about Kovid, all preparations have been made by the department. Kovid is being investigated in all major hospitals. Korona ward has also been arranged at Nalanda Medical College Hospital.
He said, “According to the information that we have received, there is no need to be afraid of this new variant, but need to be cautious. The WHO has placed this variant in the category of surveillance.”
Bihar Health Minister Mangal Pandey said that the department is constantly monitoring it. Additional Chief Secretary of the department, Pratyam Amrit has held continuous meetings about this and necessary guidelines have been given to civil surgeons of all districts, superintendents and principals of medical college hospitals.
He further said that whatever arrangements are to be made about Korona, it has been done so that the system is fixed. The government is in alert mode. Investigation facility has been started in all major hospitals.
It is noteworthy that earlier a meeting was held under the chairmanship of Additional Chief Secretary, Praty Amrit, Additional Chief Secretary of Health Department. The meeting reviewed the current status of Kovid-19 infection, availability of health facilities, arrangements for investigation and treatment and supply of necessary resources including medicines and oxygen.
On this occasion, the Additional Chief Secretary appealed to the people that there is no need to panic with the new variant of Korona, but to be vigilant and aware.
According to INSACOG, two new sub-variants of Covid-19-NB.1.8.1 and LF7 have been identified in India. The World Health Organization has placed both of them in the category of ‘variants kept under surveillance’.
He instructed all civil surgeons and superintendents of medical colleges to identify, active monitoring and timely investigation during the meeting. All districts were also instructed to be ready for any possible situation.
In this meeting, civil surgeons of all the districts of the state, principal of government medical colleges and superintendents also participated through video conferencing.
