The central government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi had launched the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY) during its second term. Through this scheme, its direct benefits are reaching the poor, farmers and middle class families in every village and city of the country. Money is no barrier in availing health benefits and that is why PM-JAY provides complete health coverage without any discrimination.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Ayushman Bharat scheme on 23 September 2018 in Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand. This scheme has become a lifeline for poor families in the country today, with more than 60 thousand patients getting free treatment every day and crores of families being freed from the burden of excessive medical expenses.
