BPCL invests Rs 28 crore to support more than 30 startups: Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri

New Delhi, 19 May (IANS). Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said on Monday that Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) has so far invested Rs 28 crore to support more than 30 startups in the fields of Energy, Healthcare, Agriculture and AI.

In a post on the social media platform X, the Union Minister said that BPCL is empowering the youth to become job creators and leaders.

Union Minister Puri said, “India’s startup ecosystem is growing rapidly, which is promoting development and innovation in many areas.”

He further stated that the ‘Ankur’ project of BPCL is increasing this pace inspired by PM Narendra Modi’s self -sufficient India vision.

The Union Minister said in the post, “Invested to support more than 30 startups in the fields of Energy, Healthcare, Agriculture and AI, Rs 28 crore has been invested.”

He further stated that BPCL is ensuring important innovation such as fuel flexible turbines and carbon dioxide-to-mental conversion.

He said, “We are all constructing an India that is a pioneer in innovation and opportunities.”

Earlier, the Union Minister said that Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) is promoting the Indian Startup Ecosystem and has so far invested Rs 27 crore to empower 28 startups.

HPCL’s ‘Origin’ initiative has so far raised Rs 35 crore to support startups in the field of clean and green energy.

Puri posted on the social media platform X, “India’s energy is taking a new shape from future innovation. HPCL’s ‘Origin’ initiative is strengthening green hydrogen and ethanol, smart LPG cylinders and emission controls, IOT solutions and cashless technology and waste, strengthening startups working on energy and carbon captures.”

He said, “Thanks to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Startup India initiative, which is promoting innovation across the country.”

The Union Minister said that Oil India Limited is also supporting 15 startups related to various areas such as the design of hydrogen fuel cell-based e-bus and the inspection of the oil well and wireless robot design for multidimensional oil and gas operations with a startup fund of Rs 50 crore.
