Brain’s central role in obesity development: Research

मोटापे के विकास में मस्तिष्क की केंद्रीय भूमिका : शोध

New Delhi, 2 March (IANS). A new study conducted recently has revealed new information on the important role of the brain regarding the origin of type-2 diabetes and obesity.

In this study, the brain has been described as a major control center, which plays an important role in the development of obesity. According to the study, insulin hormones have an important role in the development of obesity. Research has indicated that insulin can cause neurodogenative and metabolic disorders in the brain.

New things have been revealed in this study conducted by scientists from German University Hospital of Tubingen, German Center for Diabetes Research (DZD) and Helmholts Munich.

Researchers found that unhealthy diet and frequent weight gain is related to sensitivity to the brain’s insulin. Insulin works to suppress appetite in the brain, but it does not function properly in obese individuals, causing insulin resistance conditions.

The findings of this study made by Professor Dr. Stephanie Kulman and his colleagues suggest that the intake of highly processed, unhealthy foods can also bring significant changes in the brain, which can cause obesity and type 2 diabetes in future. Even in healthy individuals, there was a decrease in sensitivity to insulin in the brain after high calorie intake.

Professor Dr. Andreas Birconfeld, who wrote the study in its last form, said that the insulin reaction in the brain suits small changes before weight gain, which increases the risk of obesity and other diseases.

He said that the insulin reaction of the brain contributes significantly to the development of obesity and other metabolic diseases, and more research is needed on it.
