It is an important asana of Hatha Yoga, which promotes physical and mental health.
Experts explain what is the correct method of Kukkutasana? According to experts, Kukkutasana is a balanced yogasan, in which the body weight is balanced on the arms and shoulders. To do this, first of all sit in Padmasana (Kamal Mudra). Then remove both hands from the place between the thighs and calves and rest the palms on the ground. Next, raise the body up the palms, so that the entire weight comes on the arms. While maintaining balance in this situation, stay for some time and then slowly come back.
Regular practice of Kukkutasana provides many health benefits. It strengthens the arms, shoulders and core muscles, increasing the strength and stability in the body. It helps reduce abdominal fat and improves the digestive system. This asana keeps the spinal cord flexible and increases blood circulation in the body. Mentally, it is effective in increasing concentration and balance as well as attention. Regular practice reduces stress and anxiety. In addition, it strengthens wrist and elbow joints.
Regular practice of Kukkutasana provides many benefits to both body and mind. However, its practice is not easy. Some precautions should be taken while doing this. It is necessary to warm up the body before doing this. Those who have pain or injury in the wrist, shoulder or elbow, should not do this asana. Pregnant women and people suffering from high blood pressure or heart disease should also avoid doing it. Beginners should begin practice under the supervision of a yoga instructor. Keep the breath normal during the posture and do not put unnecessary pressure on the body.
