What is hypocalcemia?
Hypocalcemia occurs when the calcium level in your blood becomes too low. Although there are many different conditions behind the occurrence of this disease, it is mostly caused by abnormal levels of parathyroid hormone (PTH) or Vitamin D in the body. Due to this many parts of the body are also affected.
How does it affect the brain:

Due to which people start having lack of focus, amnesia and confusion. In the beginning of this disease, there is cramps and stiffness in the waist and legs. Gradually, over time, hypocalcemia affects the brain and leads to serious conditions like confusion, memory loss, amnesia, delirium, depression etc.

To protect yourself from hypocalcemia, improve your diet and consume foods rich in Vitamin D. Consume dairy products which contain good amount of calcium. Apart from this, you should get calcium tested every 6 months which is very important to avoid its deficiency.
